Update on Zim's life

Hi guys, I am finally happy to tell you that I am back online, the PC is back to life! Let's update a bit on what happened and what will happen in the future: I had already mentioned that I took new parts and replaced them, the mobo was a pain in the ass since courier lost two of them during shipping and had to order a third one that arrived late, day before yesterday to be precise.

After finally assembling everything I found out that one SSD was burned as well, with great bad luck it was the windows one, I lost most of my files, but luckily I keep CoR and work stuff in the other SSD.

Mounted everything and it works without problems, so I can get back to work. Another important announcement I have to give you is that I am moving, on the 18th my move will start and from those days on I will have furniture to move, stuff to clean and much more.

That said, the development of CoR will continue without interruption, far too much time has already been wasted, but how will I make up for half of September and now almost half of October? I have thought of two simple solutions, the first being the least convenient, since it would be to overload a month's work and make up for lost time and release everything right away, a method that would rush the work.

The second method, in my opinion better, will be to dilute the missing content between these months, October, November and December, making sure to bring the usual builds plus a plus to make up for lost time, without having to run and release cut or poorly done content.

While I'm at it, I'll also show you what I was able to do without seeing the in-game code, now tested and implemented:

For translation and dialogues, you will just need to play the next build.

I had to put the changed quests back as before, they were giving some problems for some saves.

For the forest, here is the change:

Blackwood is no more:

Now it's called meadow

From here, you can explore all the forest:

Remembering to you the incoming outfit for Cleos:

The new Core room transformations:

I've found the way to add more rooms without making too many confusing buttons or enlarging the navi:

The idea is simple, the Core room can transform in the navi:

Default is core, but you can select it to become something else

This way the Core room is now the Love's Nest:

Players can revert it or change it to another room whenever they want, I think this method is better than the others, keeping everything clean.

Of course, the Love's Nest will be used for lewd stuff with more girls:

That said, if you have any doubts, questions, stuff you don't like, or anything else, please ask, I'm finally back in action!

I get a

File "game/script/girls_compedium_screens.rpy", line 225: the at keyword argument was not given a value.
    at
      ^

and for line 444, 588, 719, 863, 1045, 1197, 1341, 1518, 1648, 1772 too.

Can confirm, there's nothing after 'at', what variable should there be for 'menu_inside_card_asme' & co?

Will we be getting the pregnancy content soon?

Glad for you return!

I want to ask for some advices.

I have problems with the 0.82 v of the game at JoiPlay app, I downloaded the PC compressed version and did all the set up, just like is recommended, but the game didn't run. just shows the "loading" screen and then closes the app.

Joiplay recognized the game because it created the save folder for paste the 0.81v save files.

Is JoiPlay not more an option for the game? or I should wait to the 0.83v and see if it works again?

Wait for the next version and see if still gives problems

Ok, Thanks. I hope so.

Again, welcome back!

Good to see you back

But about New life, are you really going to leave it with out kids? I mean there is other ways to evelove the girls with out the pregnancy

I gotta recommend using VCS. Check out GitHub, my friend :) It would be catastrophic if all the files were lost.

I recognize that bed from another game. I'm guessing it's from a database of public use images.

indeed bc a lot of these games use the same things that are from a database, i was confused about it at first but im used to it now :D

Seeing as ALL games has it it would be a suprise if one is still confused

Please take the time to make sure all your project files, models, etc. are well backed up, because it doesn't sound like they were. For something like this, "everything happened to be on a secondary drive that didn't fail" is a very dangerous situation to be in. At minimum, follow the 3-2-1 method: Keep at least 3 total copies of the data, keep at least 2 of those copies on separate devices, and keep at least 1 copy off-site.

The first copy is the production files you directly work with, the second copy would be kept on an external drive that stays unplugged except when updating the backups (so ransomware doesn't get it), and the third copy would usually be some kind of cloud backup service like Backblaze which is your offsite copy.

I don't know if this game is your full-time job or your hobby, but it's definitely a source of income, and you want to make sure the answer to "What happens if my house burns down?" is not "The project I put my heart into for years no longer exists and I have to start over."

firstly, good to have your stuff back. and we would to have contents as soon as possible but things are not looking good. Also, take your time you can always do your usual routines (like weekly updates or something). and we are fortunate enough that CoR and your other work stuff are saved.

P.S. in my opinion, you should do a huge update and implement the whole thing on dec. (patreon supporters) and either release it on X-mas or new years in public. take a break for some time.

Good things come to those that wait...

As much as I would love to have content asap, you should take your time and be happy with your work. Sure you could rush it, but you might have to go back later and change something because you didn't like how you did it the first time. Better imo to take your time and be happy with it.

(1 edit) (+1)

It's better to take your time,  we will wait patiently, maybe some won't but it's better to get it done right than release an unfinished project. No problems

Welcome back Zimon, it's a pain in the ass to know what happened but that's how it is for PC users, we never know when our PC might die, luckily you had your project saved in backup. Anyway, I will patiently wait for the next update.

(+1)

That's actually with any electronics. But yeah...

True, but not really. Depending on how lucky you are with electronics, I've had smartphones, video games and other electronic things that never let me down like a PC!
In this case, I can say I'm lucky with electronics!

COMRADE, PLEASE DO NOT WORRY. WE WAIT FOR YOUR RETURN PAITENTLY

Take your time no need to rush and see these delays as a sign of inspiration

sorry this happened to you

how do i transfer my saves to stilll be able to have those new feature ?

(+1)

At least you had the foresight for a backup. Most of the time people don't have one and then abandon it when they learn they have to restart.

on pc, search for the renpy folder in appdata, on mobile check the data folder inside the android folder

It's wonderful to witness the great return of Zimon, happy to see you're alive and well.
