About New Life


I would say that a post about a more in-depth explanation of New Life is a must, especially from the development point of view of this feature.

What did get about what New Life is gonna be?

New Life will allow you to unlock variants or transformations of girls through the use of magic and alchemy, a special egg will be created that once fertilised will fuse with the girl, giving her a new shape.

The pregnancy will come from this, giving the big belly and all, but beware, the ultimate goal will remain the obtaining of the new form, it has never been said that there will be children or anything else.

To unlock this feature we need the right moment in the plot, a specific new room, thanks to Tailè and Kor, Syxia's alchemy and Priscilla's magic.

How it will work? Simple, after you choose the girl and do the ritual, depending on how you treat the girl, she  will unlock a specific form.

Now about thisthere are two main problems.

First it's about the rendering and workload:

If for example 9 girls will unlock new Life, It means that to give to the people the choice about which form use, some parts will be rendered in three different modes, multiply it for all of them, and you can see how many renders it will need.

For this specific problem, I have already thinked about a possible solution.

The solution is as follow: In the house, the player can choose if they want the girl to be in a specific form

During single girl events, player will choose pre-event or during It if he want a specific form, if he want it random or else.

During multi girl events and main story, the only and easiest solution for this Is probably showing one girl per render, otherwise it's gonna be to much big.

The other solution it's to simplify the form and adding the New Life with only one possible Evolution per girl.

The second minor problem is if adding new Life in the end will be really worth it or not in terms or requests and growth.

Given the continuous demand for New Life is getting heavier and heavier despite the constant explanations about what we need, this is what I could do:

I can release an alpha version of the feature where only Syxia's help is required, temporarily cutting the part of the story needed to unlock it, and stitch it together in the future when the actual time comes to get it.

This means unlocking Syxia's card with her shop, obtaining the specific event and applying the feature.

When Priscilla finally arrives, the event linked to the feature will be rewarked for correct insertion.

The inserted feature will only have an unlocked form available, with its possible exposure and lewds.

The final, full version will be integrated with the arrival of Priscilla.

By doing so, however, I will insert the intact and complete version under review or inside goal, based on how the feature is received, it will be decided what to do.

I could do this mainly to see the reactions on how the New Life really works and is received, hoping to have better reaction unlike Maeve, interactives, threesome, 0.82.

This is… wow, I’m not sure if you didn’t put too much on your plate there, especially since multi girl sex scenes were just introduced as a wider possibility.

I've got an idea that might work and result in all girls having 3 forms. I have no idea if it'll take more or less work than just rendering everything 8 bajillion times but I'd say it's worth at least thinking about.

So 9 * 3 = 27. That's 27 different forms total. That number then grows exponentially when you talk about the different combinations of different forms in multi-girl scenes and the main story. I've got something that might help limit file size and reduce the workload at the same time. I split it into 2 parts for organization sake.

1st part: Static backgrounds. Basically instead of the background being a full 3D render, make it a still image of a 3D render. Basically just a screenshot. Using this for events might be a good idea during talk segments as you can then do what Corrupted Kingdoms does and have them pop up when they talk in a simple 2D image form instead of a full 3D render. CK even does this for the main story in Act 3.

2nd part: 2D image characters. Have each character that has a New Life form (or all the characters if you want to be consistent)  have a series of 2D images that they'd start using at a certain point in the game. Corrupted Kingdoms does this for all scenes and characters, when you enter Act 3, as the game allows you to customize the outfits some of the characters wear. So instead of rendering each and every scene in multiple outfits for each character, each character was instead given a 2D set of images consisting of different expressions and poses they'd do while talking thus eliminating the need for a million complete 3D renders. 

The only problems with the 2D images would be coding, and the h-scenes. 

Coding might be easy, it might be buggy, (but that's coding in a nutshell): if player chose this form for this character, then this set of images pops up when that character speaks. Then, you'd just have to match the different images (expressions and poses) in that set to their lines and you're done.

The h-scenes in Corrupted Kingdoms act 3 are still 3D renders and usually has the characters say something like "Lemme change real quick" to justify them being in a different outfit than what the player chose, for that scene. I'm assuming you'd want unique scenes for each unique form, so those would unfortunately still have to be rendered in 3D, same goes for any multi-scenes (which would result in a decent bit of work, but combined with the 2D images for talking, it should result in less renders overall)

There it is, the essay I thought up randomly while trying to sleep one night. Sorry for the long read, but I thought it might help to at least give you ideas. 

just to be sure i do not miss something.... The New Life System is currently not implemented right??? ..... If it is already..... i miss something or get bugged.

I am sorry you get pestered so much about certain aspects that have yet to come. I have always enjoyed your work. Of course we would like to enjoy it right away, but I feel the same as the others who say not to rush certain aspects. My point is I hope you don't go into too much stress and hope you have a wonderful week!

Well OF COURSE I want this feature - and every feature - in the game for me to play with as soon as possible.  However, that's just me being an impatient doofus.  I want it now, but I don't want it rushed.

Add the feature when it's ready; both in terms of the art assets and for the story.  I'll still wake up every morning wondering if it's here yet, but I can wait.

As for whether or not the alternate forms will be "worth it" on a per player basis, ultimately it comes down to personal preference.  I may never care about an alternate form for Cleos, because she's already perfect in every possible way, but other players will think differently.  But if it is important for the story, then even I will invest in those alternate forms for Cleos, because that matters to me more.

Another way to do it is you keep most of the renders as the girls look now and make the new form a combat form, kind of like what happens to the MC, but they are in control of themselves. This way the rendering load wouldn't change much. Then you can just use the combat form in places like the dojo during practice or in scripted story events. I think in this way you get to do both forms without overloading yourself with rendering everything 3 times and we still get to see the new form.

Also doing it this way the current intimate scenes will still make sense having the original form for the girls. You can always add new intimate scenes for the girls in the new forms when you have time.

i dont mind only having one form per girl. seems more realistic and would make the work load more manageable, really like the game and overwork tends to lead to burnout.  

The problem will not be the additional workload, but the reception and subsequent growth, if despite this feature there should be no response it would be wasted work.

Then i believe 2 variations with minor differences might be the best choice, and also believe the hole pregnant part itself will attract players and keep current ones. 

Also side note really love that the game is not just go here then bang this one but has real relationships with the girls and a great story.

I myself am all about the pregnant, and would love alternate forms if it's feasible. Maybe poll and select 2 to demo it on, and see how much effort it takes and how much people love it? I can't imagine that something major like your New Life -wouldn't- be a smash hit, but thats just me. Im over the moon about the concept, but again- its a great game as is, and i wouldn't want you to burn out
